This mystic haven is nestled gently in the middle of pine trees, rhododendron, and mighty oaks and is the ideal spot for solitude and relaxation. This homestay is also known for its honey bee farming, where they gather and sell pure honey that they make themselves. The proprietors are experts in organic agriculture and flower cultivation.

Attractions:
A river trip to Saujikhola, which is surrounded by pine forests, is also an option. Take a stroll along the banks of gurgling creeks. Stay in a camper or an outside tent, with a blazing bonfire to keep you warm. Gurdum abides by all environmental regulations. As a result, avoid carrying a polythene bag or disposing of items on your treks. Bring flashlights and water bottles with you. Make sure you don’t upset locals with your acts or behaviour when engaging with them.
River-crossing is one of the exciting activities available there. As you cross an adventure sport off your bucket list, you can add to your sense of adventure. Under our supervision, you may cross a hilly river gurdum on your own, which is a beautiful sensation to have.
Gurdum is charming not just because of its natural beauty, but also because of the friendly people who live there. The inhabitants are friendly, helpful and skilled at telling village folklore. Interact with them to have a wonderful time. You may unwind and rest, wander around the green fields, soak up the sun, engage with a variety of animals, and simply enjoy the tranquility of village life.

How to reach Gurdum

From Darjeeling or Siliguri, you may obtain Rimbik-bound sharing cabs that would drop you off in lower Gurdum. Because these cabs are infrequent, you may choose to take a shared cab to Manebhanjan and then another shared cab to Gurdum.

About Gurdum

If you’re searching for a place to get away from your usual and enjoy a truly rejuvenating experience, Gurdum is the place to go. The awe-inspiring grandeur of the mountains, the snow-capped peaks, the greenery of the pines, the fresh air, the melody of chirping birds, and flowing rivers all add to the allure of this beautiful location. Small treks can also be planned, such as an “into the wild” walk through the forests to observe the Kanchenjungha’s stunning panorama or a river trek to the gurgling Saujikhola under the shade of the pines. You can choose to live in a camper van or stick to the classic appeal of outdoor tents, both of which are designed to make your trip one memorable. Before a warm crackling fire, lighten up the night with music, cuisine, and tales.

Some entries are usually exceptional. Gurdum sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet and has a population of only 15 families. Gurdum’s virgin areas have the ethereal beauty of a long-lost adolescent experience and are an ideal resort for honeymooners or adventure trekkers.
The lush greens of the surrounding forests of conifers and rhododendrons welcome you to a world of meandering, undiscovered pathways, with clouds and mist caressing you at points. As night falls, you can see the Milky Way, the blue sky above transforms into a mesmerising starry night. The sky appears to be crystal clear in this pollution-free village. Darjeeling’s fairy lights can also be seen in the distance. Your mornings begin with bird melodies, sunrise over the snow-capped peaks, and a gentle breeze to soothe your senses. Even the powerful Kanchenjunga has been known to open itself in all its glory on rare occasions.
The majority of the people in the area are Buddhists who work as farmers or porters. They will warmly welcome you into their humble homes and divine way of life, which is based on Lord Buddha’s teachings. Gurdum is an ideal place to meditate and learn about mountain secrets because of the isolation, their peaceful and ever-joyous demeanour, and the breathtaking mountain views.
