Changey waterfalls, located 6 kilometres from Kolakaham, is another popular tourist destination. The journey through the primaeval forest, with its breathtaking views of the majestic Kanchenjunga, is truly thrilling. A 900-foot walking trail will be maintained from the last motorable point to appreciate the magnificence of Changey waterfalls. The waterfall descends 400 feet to its end, making it one of Darjeeling’s most magnificent waterfalls.
Pheasants such as the gorgeous Satyr Tragopan, Robin, Babbler, Laughingthrush, Scarlet, Finch, Partridge, and others are among the many birds that may be found here. Expert ornithologists, as well as greenhorns interested in birds, will enjoy Kolakham and its surrounding region for bird viewing.

How to reach Kolakham

Kolakham is not connected to the rest of the world through public transportation. The only way to get there is in a rented SUV. Kolakham is 123 kilometres through Kalimpong and 117 km via Gorubathan from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. The distance between Bagdogra Airport and NJP is about the same.
Private rented vehicles are accessible from Siliguri and NJP to travel to Kolakham via Lava, which takes around 4 hours. Private and leased vehicles are available at all taxi stands, airports, and railway stations, among other locations. Kolkakham is roughly 3 hours away from New Mal Junction Railway Station.
