Reshi Khola

Reshi Khola or Rishi Khola is a river valley tourism destination on the bank of the Reshi river in Kalimpong district. The place works as the border line between West Bengal and Sikkim.

The river valley is surrounded by forests and lofty hills of Eastern Himalaya. This place is the home of numerous birds. Reshikhola is a perfect place for nature lovers. The place is also a base for your Silk Route tour packages. Kalimpong, Sillery gaon, Aritar, Mankhim and Rongly are very close to Reshikhola.

Aritar

Aritar is known for Lampokhari or Aritar lake which is one of the oldest lakes in Sikkim. Thea boot-shaped lake is 1120 feet long and 240 feet wide and placed at 4800 feet height above sea level. Lampokhari lake is surrounded by rich green pine forests which make the area more charming . This natural lake has a boating facility and a pathway that has been constructed around the lake for tourists. There is a small shrine on the banks of the lake dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava.

Rongli & Lingtam

Rongli is a small town in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It lies on the Rangpo River some 66 kilometres by road from state capital Gangtok. Rongli is a commercial town and halting point where silk route permit formalities are maintained with proper identity proof before leaving for Silk route tour.
Lingtam is a calm and quiet village on the bank of river Bakhuter Khola. Located at an altitude of around 5000 feet Lingtam is a newest addition to the tourists list. has two monasteries and is surrounded by hills on all sides. Lingtum has two monasteries– the old monastery has some nice murals on the walls whereas the new monastery is more nice as a modern architect.
Lingtam is a first check post toward zuluk from Rongli Bazar, permits are need to be verified here before entering Silk route. Lingtam lots of good accommodation has been provided to the travelers.

Phadamchen

Phadamchen, a beautiful hamlet on Sikkim old Silk route, is a clean and traditional village on the way to zuluk from Rongli Bazar. This tiny village is one of the best places to be acclimatized before taking uphill towards high-altitude Zuluk or Nathang Valley. The village is nestled on a hill slope at 8,230 ft nad surrounded by dense forests. The area is a fertile forest of birds. This foothill village has a monastery from where you can enjoy beautiful sunset on lower valleys. Tourists are now more interested to have a stay in Phadamchen as Zuluk is a crowded place nowadays.
Zuluk is a small hamlet located at a height of around 10,000 feet on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in East Sikkim. Zuluk is 8 kms away from Padamchen towards Nathang valley. It is a popular night halt station for Silk Route tourists. For most tourists, it is the base from which they explore the higher altitude tourist destinations of Nathang Valley, Kupup and Tsongmo lake.

Gnathang valley

Crossing Zuluk the road passes through Zelep La and Thambi View point towards Gnathang valley. Zelep La and Thambi viewpoint are the most visited viewpoints in the Silk route from where most amazing sunrise and mountain ranges can be seen.
Gnathang is a highest and nearest border mountain village in East Sikkim on silk route. This beautiful valley in Summer remains loaded with rare varieties of flora and in winter the village is covered with white snow.
Crossing Gnathang valley roads passes through Tukla valley, Kupup lake, New Baba mandir, Old Baba mandir and Tsomgo lake (Changu lake) on the way to Gangtok.
